Question by vistaz86: Can I use Airport Parking & the Tube @ T5 if I’m not flying anywhere?
Basically, I’m going to Thorpe Park at the end of the month and staying in a hotel for 2 nights. Then going off to London for 2 nights after that. I’m trying to avoid taking the car into London as parking/congestion charges are ridiculous. Heathrow T5 is only 7 minutes away from our hotel in stains and overnight parking is reasonable. The plan was to park there then catch the tube straight to Piccadilly. Sounds like a good plan in theory I’m just not sure if a) I can park with no airline ticket? and b) if I can get to the tube station without an airline ticket?
Please help, not sure what other options I have.

whenever I’ve used airport parking, no-one has ever asked me to prove I’ve got an airline ticket, or details of a flight, so I don’t see any reason why you could not do this … hotels around Heathrow often offer free parking if you stay there and that doesn’t depend on your flying either

You can park without an airline ticket, and you can also get to the tube station without an airline ticket.
The car parks just ask what time you think you will arrive/depart. You need to depart nearish (within a couple of hours) of your chosen depart time, otherwise they may charge you for an extra day.
As for the tube, it is a public transport system, and although it goes to T5, it must be availabe for general public use too (think of all the airport staff / shop personnel etc who live in london and need to get the tube to T5 for their work!).
